Frequently asked questions

What is Fieldwork?

Fieldwork is a way of working with patterns that aren’t shifting.

These might show up as physical symptoms, emotional loops, or situations in your life that keep repeating.

Rather than focusing on the surface issue, we look at what’s maintaining the pattern—and work directly there to interrupt it.

What kinds of things do people come to you with?

People come when something in their life isn’t moving.

That might include:

  • ongoing physical pain
  • anxiety or burnout
  • ADHD overwhelm or shutdown
  • relationship or life transitions
  • a sense of being stuck or going round the same loops

What matters isn’t the category—it’s that something has become fixed.

Do I need to have pain for this to be relevant?

No. Pain is one way patterns show up, but not the only one.

Many people come because something in their life isn’t shifting—even if there’s no physical symptom.

How is this different from therapy or coaching?

We do work with understanding—but not as an end point.

Part of the process is seeing the patterns in how you think, feel, and relate to yourself—including the stories you hold about who you are.

But we don’t stop at insight.

We work directly with how those patterns are being maintained—physically, emotionally, and psychologically—and interrupt them there.

So change doesn’t come from understanding alone, but from shifting what’s actually running in your system.

What if I've tried therapy and bodywork and nothing worked?

That's exactly who this is for.

Most therapy doesn't address the nervous system pattern directly. Most bodywork doesn't address the emotional/protective layer.

Fieldwork integrates both—plus the parts-based understanding of why the pattern exists in the first place.

What actually happens in a session?

We start by getting clear on what’s happening and how it’s being maintained.

From there, we work directly with the pattern—this might involve attention, body awareness, perception, or working with specific responses as they arise.

There isn’t a fixed method.
The work adapts to what’s actually there.

Is there a set structure or programme?

No. Although I offer discounts to those who pay for 3, 6 and 9 sessions in advance.

There are no fixed packages or pre-set pathways.

Some people come for a single session. Others work together over time.

We decide what’s appropriate based on what you’re working with.

How many sessions will I need?

It depends on what you’re working with.

Some patterns shift quickly once they’re seen clearly and interrupted.
Others benefit from working together over a longer period.

We’ll get a sense of this during the Mapping Session and we will keep checking in with how complete things feel as we go.

What is a Mapping Session?

A Mapping Session is a 30-minute conversation.

We look at:

  • what’s happening
  • how the pattern is being maintained
  • whether this way of working is a good fit

There’s no obligation—it’s a way to get clarity before deciding to work together.

Do you work online or in person?

All sessions are online via Zoom, so I work with clients globally.

I've worked with people in Canada, Australia,  Europe, Asia, and Middle East.

What if I’ve already tried lots of things?

Most people who come have.

The issue usually isn’t effort—it’s that the underlying pattern hasn’t been interrupted.

That’s where we work.

Is this about mindset or positive thinking?

No.

This isn’t about changing your thoughts or trying to think differently.

We work with how patterns are actually operating in your system.

When those change, your thoughts, responses, and experience tend to change as a result.

What if I need to cancel or reschedule?

48 hours notice required for rescheduling at no charge.

Less than 48 hours notice: session fee applies (or session is forfeited if pre-paid).

Emergencies happen- and in the case of genuinely unavoidable last-minute changes, we'll work it out on a case-by-case basis.

What if I don’t know exactly what’s wrong?

That’s often the starting point.

You don’t need a clear diagnosis or explanation—just a sense that something isn’t shifting.

How do I know if my pain or symptoms are neuroplastic?

Many people arrive here because something about their pain doesn’t quite add up.

Tests may show “nothing wrong” — or they may show something minor that doesn’t explain the intensity, persistence, or spread of symptoms. Pain may move, flare unpredictably, or be closely linked to stress, fatigue, emotions, or life transitions.

The purpose of the 30-minute Mapping Session is not to convince you of anything, but to explore whether a neuroplastic pattern could be playing a role — and if so, what that opens up for you.

You don’t need certainty before you book. That’s what the session is for.
