Your pain isn't random. It's patterned.
And patterns can be changed.
Ready to see your pain differently? Start with a free pain Mapping Session. It’s not a test. It’s a conversation — about the patterns your system has been running, and the structures we can start to build differently.

Hi, I'm Laine
I work with people where something in their life isn’t shifting - no matter how much they’ve tried to understand or work through it.
I know this territory well.
Not just professionally, but personally.
For years, I was trying to fix what I thought was wrong.
I had periods of relief - sometimes significant -but something underlying always remained. The same patterns would reorganise and return, often in different forms. I seemed to be stuck in ways I could not see. Stuck in rendering me into a very particular kind of reality.
At different points, this showed up as pain in my body, my mind, and my life.
It wasn’t a lack of effort or insight.
It was that the pattern itself hadn’t changed.
What eventually changed wasn’t another solution. It was the way I understood what was happening.
I stopped seeing myself as a problem to solve and began to recognise it all - my pain, my 'over-sensitivity', then my ADHD and my peri-menopause - as filtered through habitual patterns my system was running. So that each thing had a 'problem flavour'.
It was the patterns I could transform. There was nothing wrong with me. Patterns that had been learned, reinforced and repeated over time. They could be interrupted, and then retrained.
This isn’t a fixed method.
It’s responsive, relational, and shaped around what’s actually maintaining the pattern.

How this work took shape
I began my work through the body.
Training in Body Stress Release and clinical somatic exercises, I saw how patterns could be interrupted - but also how they returned when something deeper remained unchanged.
That led me to widen the frame.
I trained in gestalt counselling, Pain Reprocessing Therapy, and Internal Family Systems, and explored how patterns are maintained across multiple layers - physical, emotional, and psychological.
What became clear was this:
Persistent patterns don’t live in one place.
And they don’t shift reliably unless you work at the level they’re being maintained.
Everything I offer now comes from that integration.

How I work
I don’t work by analysing symptoms in isolation, and I don’t push insight for its own sake.
Instead, we slow things down and get specific.
We look at when the pain began and how it may have become embedded over time. We explore this from multiple angles: the body and nervous system, emotional protection and regulation, and the beliefs or identities that have formed around the experience.
Understanding matters here. Not as an intellectual exercise, but as a way of giving the system clarity and orientation.
From there, we work relationally and precisely, paying attention to timing, readiness, and what your system can actually integrate. Change tends to happen when there is enough clarity, enough safety, and enough choice for the pattern to respond differently.
This isn’t a one-size-fits-all approach.
It’s responsive, grounded, and shaped around what your system is genuinely ready for.

What I believe
I don’t believe the body is broken.
And I don’t believe what we experience is random.
I see patterns - shaped by repetition, protection, and relationship.
Patterns that once made sense, but no longer serve.
Lasting change comes from interrupting what no longer fits - and creating space for something new to take hold.
